In a sale that closed on 7 October 2026, Bonhams concluded its Online Watches, London auction. The online-only event achieved a total realized sum of £85,734,[1] with 57 of 95 lots finding buyers, representing a 60% sell-through[1] rate. This auction brought together a diverse selection of timepieces, spanning pocket watches, military-issued chronographs, and elegant ladies' bracelet watches, drawing interest from collectors tracking the mid-market watch sector.
According to the official results published by Bonhams, which serves as the primary source for this sale's outcomes, the auction showcased several notable pocket watches and wristwatches. Among the pocket watches, a Zenith silver keyless wind open face chronometer deck watch stood out. This timepiece features a 19-jewel Cal.5011 movement, numbered 7157322, along with a guilloche engraved dial that includes a two-day power reserve indicator at the 12 o'clock position. Housed in an engine-turned round case, the 59mm watch was accompanied by its original Zenith box.
Another pocket watch of historical interest was the Brüder Klumark, Wien, a 14K gold keyless wind open face pocket watch. This piece is equipped with a Swiss lever movement, numbered 71305, and features a clean white dial. The polished round case measures 51mm and came complete with its continental gold chain and fob, offering a classic representation of late nineteenth-century watchmaking.
The ladies' watch selection featured prominent designs from legendary jewelry and watch houses. A Cartier lady's stainless steel and gold quartz bracelet watch Panthére, Reference 66921, attracted attention with its classic aesthetic. This model is powered by a 4-jewel Cal.157 quartz movement and features a silvered dial housed in a brushed and polished square case. The watch is fitted with a matching brushed and polished steel and gold link bracelet and a signed double folding clasp.
Additionally, a Vacheron Constantin lady's 18K white gold manual wind bracelet watch, Reference 6898, highlighted the high-end craftsmanship of the Swiss manufacture. The timepiece is powered by a 17-jewel Cal.1003 manual wind movement that is adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism, and five positions, and is stamped with the prestigious Seal of Geneva. It features a brushed silvered dial with polished sword hands, a textured bezel, and an integrated textured link bracelet with a signed white gold folding clasp. The lot was accompanied by a Vacheron Constantin pouch and a service receipt.
The sale also featured robust military and utility timepieces, which represent a highly active segment of the vintage watch market. These included a Breitling stainless steel manual wind single button chronograph military wristwatch, which was historically issued to the Canadian Air Force, and an oversized German military steel manual wind observation wristwatch by Laco. Such pieces are highly valued by collectors for their utilitarian design, historical associations, and robust mechanical construction. Alongside these military models, modern classic wristwatches like the Jaquet Droz stainless steel automatic wristwatch Petite Heure Minute and the classic Rolex lady's stainless steel and gold automatic calendar bracelet watch Datejust, Reference 6917/6900, demonstrated the breadth of the auction's catalog.
These pieces demonstrate the enduring appeal of specialized horological craftsmanship, from the technical precision of chronometer deck watches to the refined jewelry-like execution of mid-century ladies' gold wristwatches.
