Bulgari Pink Diamond Ring Leads Christie's Geneva Auction
The fancy intense pink diamond has remained in the same private collection for decades before its public debut.

A historic pink diamond ring designed by Bulgari will lead the Christie's Geneva jewelry auction this autumn, emerging from private ownership. Known as the Bulgari Pink, the emerald-cut, fancy intense pink diamond is slated to headline the Magnificent Jewels sale in 2026,[1] as reported by Haute Living. The stone has remained in the private collection of a European noble family for decades and has never been offered at public auction.
According to ARTnews, the diamond was originally acquired in India by the current owner’s great-grandfather before being entrusted to the Roman jeweler.[2] The commission coincided with a golden era of postwar glamour in Rome, when the boutique on Via Condotti served as a prominent social hub for international film stars.
The physical rarity of the stone supports its prominent billing. Christie’s notes that the gem is classified as a Type IIa diamond, a designation shared by a tiny fraction of all gem-quality diamonds. The auction house compares its characteristics to historic stones from legendary sources. For those managing historic jewelry assets, the offering represents a rare moment of price discovery for a major colored diamond with unbroken, single-family provenance.

Bulgari Pink Diamond Heads to Christie’s Geneva at $18MOct 12, 2026
Source passage
The Bulgari Pink, a 24-carat Fancy Intense Pink diamond ring, leads Christie’s Geneva on November 10, 2026, estimated at $12–18M. The biggest pink diamond of the autumn auction season has spent most of its life out of sight. Christie’s announced on October 9, 2026, that The Bulgari Pink — a 24.00-carat Fancy Intense Pink emerald-cut diamond set in a ring by Bulgari — will headline its Magnificent Jewels sale in Geneva on November 10, 2026, with an estimate of CHF 10–15 million, or $12–18 million. The stone comes from the collection of what Christie’s calls a distinguished European noble family. It has stayed in private hands for more than 70 years and has never been offered at auction. That combination of size, color and untouched provenance is what tends to bring serious bidders into the room. According to family lore, the current owner’s great-grandfather bought the rough diamond in India during the 1950s and later entrusted it to Bulgari . The Roman jeweler turned it into the ring that survives today. At the time, Bulgari was becoming a destination for some of the world’s most discerning collectors, and it was a natural home for a stone this rare. The timing matters to the story. The 1950s were when Rome became the center of postwar glamour. Major Hollywood productions were filming at Cinecittà Studios, and the international stars who followed them gave the era its nickname,
