The Bonhams Home & Interiors auction concluded with a total realization of A$307,242,[1] finding buyers for 61 of 65 lots to achieve a 93.8% sell-through[1] rate. In a sale that closed on 23 October 2026, the auction house presented a diverse selection of fine art, antique furniture, and historic silverware. According to the official Bonhams results page, the sale successfully cleared the vast majority of its offered property, demonstrating steady interest across multiple decorative arts categories.
Among the notable fine art offerings, Madeleine Jeanne Lemaire's oil on canvas, The Woman in White, led the sale. The painting, measuring 162.5 by 251.0 centimeters, was previously held in a private collection in Melbourne and was offered directly from the Bonhams gallery in Armadale. The work represents Lemaire's classical French salon style and carries a provenance that includes a prior appearance at Sotheby's in Melbourne. Decorative furniture and historic silver also commanded attention, including an Italian topographical marquetry commode from Lombardy that features detailed marine scenes and a signature by Michele Mrach, with a provenance tracing back to the Owston Collection sold in Sydney.

The decorative furniture category saw strong bidding on individual lots, such as the 19th-century carved hardwood pier tables featuring Italian specimen marble tops and foliate carved frieze drawers, which sold well beyond their initial expectations. Similarly, the silver category was anchored by the pair of Thomas Robins George III tureens, weighing 6101 grams in total and featuring elaborate applied cartouches and claw feet. These results reflect a consistent appetite for well-documented English silver and continental furniture among regional collectors.
