Bonhams lists its Indian, Himalayan & Southeast Asian Art Online auction on its official calendar, with the sale scheduled to close on 2 November 2026. The online-only event presents a curated selection of regional sculpture and sacred paintings, led by a small-scale gilt copper alloy figure of a lama and a serene Kamphaeng Phet style bronze Buddha. These objects represent distinct regional traditions, from the meticulous metalwork of Tibet and Thailand to the narrative complexity of Bhutanese and Nepalese devotional art.
Among the sculptural highlights is an 18th-century Tibetan gilt copper alloy figure of a lama, possibly depicting Zanabazar Yeshe Dorje. The figure is seated in a meditative posture on a cushion throne, wrapped in an engraved cloak and wearing a pointed pandita hat. From Thailand, a 15th-century copper alloy figure of Buddha represents the Kamphaeng Phet style, which features sharper facial details and a continuous eyebrow line compared to neighboring Sukhothai works. The painting selection includes an 18th- or 19th-century Bhutanese thangka depicting Shakyamuni Buddha flanked by disciples and regional historical figures, as well as an 18th-century eastern Tibetan thangka illustrating the wrathful deities of the Bardo intermediate state.
