In a sale that closed on 21 October 2026, Bonhams presented its specialized spirits auction, Distillery Icons: A Legacy of Excellence. According to official results published by Bonhams, which serves as the primary result source for the sale, the auction realized £316,460[1] with 94 of 112 lots sold, representing an 83.9% sell-through[1] rate. The curated selection brought together highly sought-after single malts, private casks, and limited-edition decanters from Scotland's most celebrated distilleries, drawing interest from collectors focused on rare Scotch whisky expressions.
The cask was distilled by J. & A. Mitchell & Co Ltd at the Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown, Scotland, and the bottles are sold duty paid with no further bottling fees required.
Another major highlight was the Highland Park 56 Year Old (1x 70cl), which sold for £21,080[3] against an estimate of £20,000[4] to £30,000[3]. This single malt from the Islands region is presented in a custom glass decanter designed to evoke Orkney's ocean waves and wild rainwater.
Speyside single malts were also well represented, particularly through the celebrated Pagoda Series from Glenfarclas. The Glenfarclas Pagoda Ruby Reserve Gold 62 Year Old, 1954 (1x 1.5 Litres) sold for £18,600[4] against an estimate of £14,000[7] to £20,000. This expression was drawn from single sherry cask number 445 and represents one of the oldest Glenfarclas expressions ever released. Similarly, the Glenfarclas Pagoda Sapphire Reserve Silver 63 Year Old, 1953 (1x 1.5 Litres) sold for £17,360[5] against an estimate of £14,000 to £20,000.
