Juliens Auction Concludes Street Culture Sale Realizing $160,905

Juliens Auction has concluded its Street Culture sale, realizing a total of $160,905.^[1] The auction successfully sold 121 of 131 lots offered, achieving a final sell-through rate of 92.4%.^[1] According to Juliens Auction, which serves as the official results source for the sale, the event brought together a diverse range of skate culture, prints, and contemporary art.

The auction's catalog highlighted several items with deep connections to skate history and contemporary art. Among these was a Zero brand Jamie Thomas pro model skateboard deck, which was ridden by Thomas and personally customized with decals promoting Fallen, his footwear brand. The deck was later hand-signed by Nobel Prize–winning songwriter Bob Dylan, who added poignant lines from the closing passage of “Blowin’ in the Wind,” which is noted as Thomas's favorite song. This piece, accompanied by a Tony Hawk Foundation black velvet carry bag, was previously sold at Tony Hawk’s “Boards + Bands” Charity Auction, where it was widely reported as the most valuable skateboard ever to appear at auction. Another featured lot was an artwork by British artist David Hockney. The piece is an etching and aquatint on paper, titled "Panama Hat", which was signed and dated in pencil to the lower right and numbered to the lower left 101/125, carrying provenance from the David Stuart Galleries in Los Angeles.
