Juliens Auction concluded its Gibson Gives charity auction, realizing a total of $78,234 with a perfect[1] 100% sell-through rate[1] as 18 of 18 lots sold. Juliens Auction is the result source for the sale, which represents the fifth consecutive auction partnership between the house and the philanthropic division of Gibson. The proceeds from this star-studded event are designated to benefit the Gibson Gives & FirstBank Amphitheater Music Education Program, a joint initiative that has raised nearly $200,000 to date for music education.
The auction featured a selection of artist-signed instruments, including a Gibson Hummingbird EC acoustic guitar in a black finish, which was signed in white felt tip pen and inscribed with "Rise!" by the members of the Chicago-based punk rock band Rise Against. Another notable instrument offered was a Gibson Songwriter Standard EC Rosewood acoustic guitar in an Antique Natural finish, signed in black felt tip pen by singer-songwriter James Taylor. These charity instruments build on the house's established history of presenting highly sought-after rock and roll memorabilia, which has previously included stage-played instruments from legendary artists like Kurt Cobain of Nirvana.
