Bonhams opens its doors for Discovery on Sunset, a vibrant curation of fine art, photography, and cultural memorabilia. Among the premier offerings is Maximilien Luce’s post-impressionist canvas, Pêcheur et son Chien au Bord de la Rivière, carrying a low estimate of $5,000 and a high estimate of $7,000. It is joined by Antoine Blanchard’s nostalgic, unframed Paris street scene, with a low estimate of $4,000 and a high estimate of $6,000, and William Robinson Leigh’s landscape, At the edge of Tinga-Tinga Mcubwa, also carrying a low estimate of $4,000 and a high estimate of $6,000. Collectors of cinematic history will find a Best Original Score Golden Globe Statuette for Flashdance, with a low estimate of $4,000 and a high estimate of $6,000, alongside the cinematic allure of Breathless, which has a low estimate of $3,000 and a high estimate of $5,000. Photography enthusiasts can bid on Julius Shulman’s architectural documentations, including a set of eleven black and white prints of The Coconut House with a low estimate of $3,000 and a high estimate of $5,000, and a corresponding set of eleven color prints with a low estimate of $3,000 and a high estimate of $5,000. Currently open for bidding now, this online session represents a key opportunity to gauge entry-level and mid-market demand. Bonhams's year-to-date performance in this segment shows a solid 84.8% sell-through rate, supported by a total of $5,841,391 realized.
